The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process
We keep an eye on the wisdom teeth during routine exams so we can hopefully remove them before they cause pain or put pressure on the nearby teeth. But if that’s already happening, we’ll use advanced imaging to plan the procedure before we complete it right here in the office. If the teeth are still trapped beneath the gum and bone (impacted), we’ll numb the area before making a tiny incision and removing the tooth/teeth in pieces. This approach means we can use a smaller incision, which is gentler on the tissues and enables patients to recover faster!
