Get to Know Dr. Jamie Sarkan
Dr. Jamie is passionate about changing the way people feel about going to the dentist. She understands that many patients arrive feeling nervous or carrying negative experiences from the past, and she loves showing them that dental care can be comfortable and positive. By creating an environment where patients feel heard, cared for, and at ease, she hopes every person leaves feeling confident about their smile and comfortable coming back. As a dentist in Madison, Dr. Jamie looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them achieve healthy smiles they can feel proud of.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Jamie knew she wanted to become a dentist from a very young age. Her mom worked at a small dental office near their home, and she spent plenty of time there while growing up. She was fascinated by the work and thought dentistry was the coolest job in the world. In fact, it is the only career she can ever remember wanting, and that passion never changed as she got older.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Jamie attended Rhodes College for her undergraduate studies before earning her dental degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, where she graduated #1 in her class.
Since graduating, Dr. Jamie has continued to expand her knowledge through extensive clinical and patient care education. She is certified in Invisalign and Botox and has completed additional training in esthetic and restorative dentistry, endodontics, patient communication, case presentation, and creating an exceptional patient experience. She is also a published dental researcher and has worked in both private and group practice settings, giving her experience caring for a wide range of patients and dental needs.
Dr. Jamie is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. She is also affiliated with the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Jamie now lives in Madison with her husband, David. The two are high school sweethearts, and although they never expected Georgia to become home, one summer spent on Lake Oconee was enough to change their minds. David’s family now lives in the area, while most of Dr. Jamie’s family remains up north. She is the youngest of four girls and is also a proud aunt to two nieces and a nephew.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Jamie loves woodworking and tackling DIY projects around the house. She has a habit of looking at almost anything and thinking, “I could probably make that myself,” so there is usually something being built or taken apart at home. When the weather is nice, she enjoys swimming, fishing, and spending time on the lake with David and their Great Pyrenees, Bear, who especially loves to swim. Dr. Jamie is also a huge college football fan, and during football season, her Saturdays are usually reserved for College GameDay and watching football.
