Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Clay has been drawn to dentistry from an early age, but it was during her college years that she fully realized it was the right path for her. She was especially interested in how dentistry blends both art and science, while also allowing her to work closely with people. The ability to make a meaningful impact on someone’s health and confidence ultimately solidified her decision.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Clay attended Hendrix College for her undergraduate studies before earning her dental degree from the University of Tennessee. She then completed a residency at Brookdale University Hospital in New York, where she gained valuable experience in a wide range of dental procedures.
Throughout her career, Dr. Clay has practiced in several states and continues to expand her skillset through ongoing education. She has received advanced training in sedation as well as Botox and dermal fillers, and she regularly completes continuing education to stay up to date with modern techniques and technology.
Dr. Clay is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association, and she has completed advanced training through the Pankey Institute.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Clay enjoys spending time with her husband, Chad, and caring for their two dogs. She loves being outdoors, whether that’s going on walks, working on landscaping projects, or tending to her growing collection of houseplants. She has also recently taken an interest in gardening, especially growing peppers and tomatoes.
Earlier in life, Dr. Clay was deeply involved in ballet, training extensively and performing for many years. That appreciation for discipline and artistry still carries over into her work today.
